Christopher McKay

Chris McKay is a Toronto-based filmmaker who has shown films at festivals large and small around the world, and at home on the C.B.C. He has won grants from The Canada Council, The Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, The Hazel Cryderman-Wees Foundation, and BravoFact. The last few years, Chris has been focusing on stop-motion and object animation in a variety of formats. He began working entirely without the aid of computers – using old wind-up 16mm cameras, and flatbed editing tables to create. The addition of High Definition video to his filmography allows Chris a new tool with which to work, but he continues to employ traditional animation technique with his projects. At best estimation, he is the first filmmaker to use 24P High Def for stop-motion animation.
