Dianne Ouellette

Dianne Ouellette holds both a BFA (1995) in Film and Video and a BA (1993) in Theatre from the University of Regina. Dianne has completed many short films over the years through the assistance of the Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative. Her films have screened internationally in such places as Paris, Croatia, India, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Telluride, Vancouver and Toronto. She has won numerous awards for her work, such as Best of Saskatchewan at the Yorkton Short Film Festival 2000 for “Daisy,” and Best 16mm Film at the $100 Film Festival in Calgary (1998 and 2001) for her films “december” and “sIgh.” Dianne’s film Red is Dead (2016) pays tribute to her mother and won the Kodak Super 8 Filmmaking Challenge. “Seeing the film’s grain dancing on the screen, Dianne’s movies embrace visual storytelling, culling influences from theatre, early silent cinema, the Prairies, and oral storytelling.” – curator Milada Kovacova
