Valerie Buhagiar

Valerie Buhagiar is a Toronto actor and filmmaker whose short films have screened at film festivals worldwide, receiving numerous awards and critical acclaim. “Small Stupid and Insignificant” won the Best Experimental Drama award at the 2011 Female Eye Film Festival (Toronto). Her first short, “The Passion of Rita Camilleri” earned awards at festivals in Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Columbus and Malta, as well as a Gemini nomination. Her 2006 short “Tell Us The Truth Josephine” received the Best Experimental Film award at the 2008 Female Eye Festival. Her unique vision is at once surreal and deeply emotional. Currently she is working towards her first feature as a director.
