Timothy Watts

Activist filmmaker Timothy Watts’ first documentary Circles of Stone was produced with a grant from the Ontario Arts Council. It follows the journey of gay rights activists in Toronto as they won battles for civil liberties only to have them set aside or forgotten in the wave of death that was the AIDS epidemic. His second documenatry Citizen Lobbyist follows members of the National Transgender Advocacy Coalition as they nobly try to convince their members of Congress to include them in legislation which protects gays and lesbians, but not specifically the Trans community. Timothy continues to produce and direct, often at his own expense, documentaries that illustrate the strength of the human spirit when confronted with peril, intolerance, and prejudice.
