Fantone Gerald

Born and raised in the Philippines, Gerald Patrick Fantone is an imaginative artist, designer, and director who delivers his passion for the arts through innovation and cutting-edge application of the arts with class and critical thinking. He is a receiver of the acclaimed Rotary Club International “Youth Impact Awards” for his meritorious service to youth in 2006. He is an experienced Drama and Visual Arts Facilitator having worked for companies around the GTA area including DramaWay, Amazon Downtown, and Kingsway Conservatory of Music for several years where he developed and designed programs catered to children and youth of all abilities. Gerald comes with an excellent background in both theatre and film productions. He directed and designed plays for DramaWay, as well as the Kingsway Lambton Church Christmas Pageant 2007; and also worked as a stage manager for the annual Fringe Festival in Toronto. His film credits include directing credits for several short films such as The Closet (received the ‘Top Film’ Award at The Rivee Film Festival in New Brunswick in 2006), Love Souvenir, and One Missed Call (featured in MTV Canada). He also works as an editor having gained credits for Becoming Susan, (an official selection at the Inside Out Film Festival 2009 and Rendez Vouz with Madness 2008), and his most recent for Whatever That Is (an official selected at the Toronto International Film Festival Student Showcase.) A believer that Arts is a fashion of creatively expressing one’s inner self to a deaf audience, Gerald intends to use Art to communicate to the entire world. He currently attends York University for Film and Video Production.
