Marusya Bociurkiw

Marusya Bociurkiw is an award-winning filmmaker, as well as a media scholar and author. She has been writing and directing films and videos in Canada for the past fifteen years and her work has screened on four continents. She is the author of four books including most recently the award-winning memoir Comfort Food for Breakups: The Memoir of a Hungry Girl and has read, performed, and broadcast her work in university classrooms, cinemas, book stores, bars, film and literary festivals, and on television and radio. She has a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies and currently lives in Toronto, where she is professor of media theory at Ryerson University.
