Joële Walinga is a visual artist and filmmaker whose work explores memory and trauma, subjective experience, and the aesthetics of access and empowerment. She studied intermedia at NSCAD University and Concordia University. Her work has been shown at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography, The Khyber Centre for the Arts, TRUCK Contemporary Art in Calgary, Narwhal Contemporary, The John & Maggie Mitchell Art Gallery, DOXA Documentary Film Festival, Vertical Features, and Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival among others. Her work is available at the Canadian Filmmakers Distribution Centre and online at Doc Alliance Films.
