education & workshops
Looking to educate your class, group or peers about what CFMDC distribution looks like?
Education and audience development are among the most forward-looking dimensions of our activities.
CFMDC maintains active relationships with postsecondary institutions, supporting classroom use of the collection, institutional tours, guest lectures, and research access integrating educational activities into artistic programming. Learning is embedded into how CFMDC conducts all of its work.
We offer distribution workshops for emerging artists who are looking to disseminate their works to national or international markets. With an emphasis on how CFMDC functions, our workshops overview how an artist-run non profit distribution centre operates, tips for editing your film, national standards for screening fees for artist payment and commercial vs. artist run distribution.
Looking for a space to host a workshop?
CineCycle, our historic venue, is an intimate and flexible space that accommodates a variety of workshops at the intersection of film and media arts.
We are happy to discuss possible workshops in our space and collaborations. Email us with more information and why CFMDC is an ideal space for your workshop.
