Annastacia Dickerson

Annastacia Dickerson was born and raised in the fiery metropolis of London, Ontario, Canada. She displayed considerable interest in visual art early on in her life. In high school, she entered an art program unique to other high schools in Ontario: the Bealart Special Arts Foundation Program. The program was established in the late 1960s when the facilities were temporarily placed in the school garage until more space was made available in the main building. The Art Program still functions in that garage today. Here Stacy was first introduced to various visual art mediums, including filmmaking. Bealart offered an excellent chance to experiment with materials that would never again be so available, so inexpensively. After completing the Arts Program at Bealart, Stacy enrolled in the Media Arts Program at Sheridan College where she focused on Film Studies. At the end of her second year, Stacy completed “Reasonably Barbie,” which has been screened in various venues around Toronto, and placed first in the Long Experimental Category at TV Ontario’s Telefest Awards. Her film “Swim After Dinner” has screened all over Canada.
