
Mocha Jean Herrup
By combining humour, performance, and ironic sensibility, Mocha Jean Herrup continues to make work that raises questions about gender roles and identities in ways that are entertaining, inclusive, and thought provoking. Her short films, including “POM,” “Lesbianfilm,” and “The Lancebian” have screened in festivals around the world, on the Sundance Channel, Northwest Airlines, and at the Walker Art Center. “POM” received audience choice awards at Toronto’s Inside/Out Festival and CinemaTexas, and a Director’s Choice Award at the Charlotte Film and Video Festival.
Herrup is currently an associate professor in the Radio-TV-Film Department at the Austin Community College, where she teaches film studies and video production.
