Alison Reid

ALISON REID makes her short film directorial debut with “Succubus”. Alison was born in Toronto, Canada and raised on a farm an hour east of the city. After a childhood spent mainly on horseback, her adult life has been largely comprised of falling from buildings, crashing cars, getting shot, and running around on fire. After several injuries including a broken neck (car roll), burn (premature explosion), and reconstructed knee (motorcycle accident), Alison moved on to coordinating stunts as well as performing them. She is recognized as a veteran stunt coordinator with a long list of credits including features such as “Saw II”, “The Dark Hours”, and “eXistenZ”. As a stunt performer, she has over 200 credits to her name including “Four Brothers”, “Exit Wounds” and “The Man”. She also has experience in second unit directing including Showtime’s “DC 911: Time of Crisis”, USA Network’s series “The War Next Door”, Pebblehut’s mini series “The Third Twin” and Fireworks series “Highlander: The Raven”. Reid’s professional development includes being one of six women chosen to participate in the ‘Women in the Director’s Chair Workshop’ at Banff Centre for the Arts in 2001; participating in ‘The Producers Workshop’ at the Canadian Film Centre; shadowing director, Bruce McDonald; taking part in the Women in Film and Television’s ‘Expert Level Writing Course’; and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television’s ‘Story Editor Training Program’. Alison has a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Radio and Television from Ryerson Polytechnic University. She received a CTV Fellowship to attend Banff 2001 Television Festival. Throughout her career, Alison always kept a hand in the creative side of things, developing her own projects, and writing on the CTV series “Katts and Dog” (shown in the United States as “Rin Tin Tin K-9 Cop”) and on the Pearson Lamb series “Parole Board”. She currently has several projects in development including the action/drama series, “Hard Knocks” and the black comedy/thriller, “Dijon”. Reid is now focused exclusively on pursuing her directing career.
