Rose Gutierrez

Rose is a Filipino lesbian, mother, filmmaker based in Toronto, Canada. Her work is grounded in her activism advocating for queer rights and racial equity. Rose successfully launched a career as a director/producer with Isis Productions, releasing several films, including TAMA BA TAMA NA: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 1993. Despite this initial success, Rose pivoted her career to become Program Director of SKETCH Working Arts. Rose recently re-ignited her film career, as the Executive Producer on Min Sook Lee’s Migrant Dreams and shortly after directed and produced her first short documentary, Trajectories of Now. Currently, she is producing Barb Taylor’s animation feature, Queen Maeve and developing her second documentary, Donor #3076.
