Riley, Brendan

Brendan Riley is a writer whose work explores themes of grief, vengeance, sexuality, and magic. Drawing from his diverse heritage, Brendan crafts narratives that reflect the complexity of identity and the human experience. His stories serve as both love letters and cautionary tales to his younger self, inspiring others to embrace authenticity and find strength in vulnerability. Brendan’s work has been featured at every Black Film Festival across Canada, including Toronto, Montreal, Halifax, Calgary, and Vancouver. As an actor, he has appeared in indie films and on major networks like Netflix, the CW, and SyFy. An alumni of the Being Black in Canada program powered by Netflix and CBC, Brendan was also selected for the prestigious Black Futures writers retreat on Galiano Island, sponsored by Creative BC, Black Women in Film, and Warner Brothers Canada.
