  • Burcu’s Angels

For over 30 years, Burcu’s Angels was more than a store—it was a radical space of care. As the shop nears closure, this documentary blends archival fragments, poetic reflection, and community memory to honour a Turkish queer elder’s defiant presence—and the disappearing spaces that held generations of queer lives.

  • Auspicious

This short documentary is a collaborative project exploring the union of two men who identify as queer and feminine in a conservative Hindu culture, where sexuality and gender roles have historically been very strict.

  • Hues

HUES began as an observation of the vibrant colours found in nature. Autumn colours of Ginkgo, Maple, and Pine leaves are captured onto 16mm colour film using a film camera. But are these their true colours? A digital scan of the film is then made. Using digital tools, I began ‘peeling’ away and then returning layers of colour onto the material, in the attempt to further express its richness.

  • I kept following until I realized what was true

A film about walking, moving, traveling, and migrating; about camerawork choreography and continuity editing; about sound-image play; about making a statement. It also serves as my farewell to the city of Richmond, Virginia, USA, where I lived for three years until the summer of 2024.

  • GALATEA

When Galatea, an incredibly beautiful statue comes to life, her creator Pygmalion falls head over heels. Through their bond, the artist not only discovers true love but also that change and grief are just as much a part of life.

meteors… is a silent film composed of images drawn from the Katsakh Mediterranean Archive, a personal collection of non-fiction Super 8mm and 16mm films capturing cities and villages of the Eastern Mediterranean from the 1920s to the 1980s, initiated in 2020 by Chantal Partamian, experimental filmmaker and archivist. Between image and word unfolds a poetic exchange that traces the paths of exile, imprinting the landscapes, here and elsewhere, with a history steeped in memory and mourning.

  • Living Containers

In a world permeated by plastics, a bioengineer becomes consumed by a plastic‑eating enzyme she helped create. Aided by machine learning, the enzyme rapidly breaks down polymers so plastic can be recomposed anew. Insects, humans, models, and machines are caught in cycles of extraction, ingestion, and excretion, driven by an unconscious pull toward a pre‑life state of matter. Moving between microscopic vision and vast infrastructures, the film presents an ecosystemic leveling of species and materials.

  • Call Tony

Call Tony is an experimental documentation of our personal kink histories as we relate to the Canadian Lesbian & Gay Archives, one another and community. Our creative process was in part shaped by the pieces of history that we did but mostly did not find at the archives. Call Tony is archival itself as it documents us as queer living kinksters exploring safety, healing, belonging and play. Working together closely on this video led to the recording of a dialogue rooted in the shared and differing identities embodied in our friendship.

  • tierra

tierra is a sand animation exploring cyclical mark making and patterns reflected in landscapes, the human body and their interconnectedness. Weaving abstraction, repetition and hand-made processes both in sound and in visuals to blur the lines between the body and its natural surroundings.

  • Spectacular

Spectacular is an experimental sci-fi journey across Canadian landscapes, set to the score of electronic duo LAL. Featuring a celestial Travel Guide, and a crew of Lost Voyagers, these characters find each other and set off together, their very survival an act of resistance. The Guide sends out a signal, giving the Voyagers a point of reference for their longing, like a lighthouse in a turbulent sea. Wandering in a fractured world, we follow on their search for a fresh beginning, away from the noise and scarcity of their current predicament.
