Figs in Motion
Two men become six ballerinas and several horses in a bestial, impromptu corps de ballet. A delightful riff on the imagery of Edgar Degas and Eadweard Muybridge, featuring original music by Bryce Kulak and the Wet Secrets. “Figs in Motion” is a collaboration between Edmonton filmmakers Trevor Anderson and aAron munson which was originally commissioned by the Art Gallery of Alberta.

Nightlight
A lovely time-lapse portrait of landscapes and people at night, featuring both loneliness and connection and ending with a fireworks display. “Nightlight” was shot on expired black-and-white Double Super 8 film and processed as negative, the gelatin layer of the film stained red. Milchwolken Liebe (Milky Clouds Love)
“My balcony is my boat. Today is the 1st of May and it’s pretty loud in Kreuzberg. And hot. Shit helicopters. Get off! Now the summer can begin.” So starts Dagie Brundert’s evocation of languorous summer days. Puffy white clouds pass by in a blue sky, and milky clouds of cream in her coffee trigger memories of childhood. Past and present converge.

Travel is often the ultimate test of a relationship. In “The View From Here”, the filmmaker combines travel footage of picturesque Europe with journal entries, to provide insight into a relationship that’s on a seemingly downward spiral. Winner of Alabama Shout Film Festival award for Excellence in Storytelling.

Bathers, The
Three naked bathers gather at the river on a warm day in September. The film was a commission from Ladyfest Ottawa and the Independent Filmmakers Cooperative of Ottawa. Eight women were given the theme of sexuality and two rolls of Super-8 film. I wanted to capture something wild and free, unfettered by society – human sexuality in nature.

A mother breastfeeds her child. A woman peels an orange. Originally created for installation, “The Wheel” has also screened as a single-channel video work.
