But in the face of such contingency (the driving rain and restive animal life) can his research yield any results?

    Layers of history merge with layers of media in this hybrid experimental film. An autobiographical ode to the filmmaker’s family and what’s left of their memories. A remediation collage of 16mm film, old 35mm Kodak slides and a digital computer screen. Filmed with an old DSLR camera at a specific angle in order to capture the ethereal reflections.

  • Imagine none of this is real

    A strange, melancholy travelogue through the post-human world. A record of the land and the resonance of its history. The images and the medium exist in a tense balance, where each amplifies and distorts the other. This film is not only about the landscapes being captured, but the media being used to capture it.

  • 1MTH/MIN

    1 MTH/MIN crosses the spring of 2020 from the author’s main view of the outside world during this particular period. Each image represents a 24-hour scan taken every day from March 21 to June 21. Through the frame of a window, the landscape depicts natural phenomena: the flowering of trees, changes in the weather and the extension of daylight until the summer solstice… It is a reflection on space-time in a cinematographic form. From a sedentary point of view, this device explores the film’s ability to play with these dimensions by an effective compression of a really long confinement time.

    Inspired by San Francisco’s first Chinese American female physician, this film envisions the euphoria and despair of Margaret Chung and her insatiable desire for women and celebrity through her forays into drugs, sapphic surgeries, and queer flights of fancy.   • Recollection – Premonition

    Am I him or am I not? Did I know her or did she know me? I’m not certain who they are yet I feel I have always known them and I can’t help but wonder what became of them. A figure appears then dissolves as the film becomes a memory map. Another figure then appears and merges into the topography of the aged film before once again the first figure briefly reappears.
