  • L’Arrière-Pays

    An autobiographical fable at the cross-section between SCI-FI and Memory Film. The film explores the journey of two dreamers trapped between Past and Present, between Dream and Reality. It combines excerpts from an immigration journal, found text and images suspended in a dystopian dark space.

  • Fevered

    ‘Fevered’ is a meditation on the heated drama enacted by lakes and rivers as winter unravels. Piecing together 16mm footage and sound recordings, Peters re-imagines the pulsing of waterways as a metaphorical rhizome swelling outward in a feverish response to global warming.

  • Dam’d

    Using 16mm film altered in part by algae and zebra mussels, ‘Dam’d’ illuminates parallel behaviours between human and invasive species and their impact on waterways. The mutation of film footage acts as a metaphor for the erosion and evolution of the aquatic ecosystems it records.

  • Shifting Baseline

    Motion picture film decomposes in a bath of toxic cyanobacteria collected from a shore where children are playing. A child’s piano improvisation plays over the bacterial impressions in memory of a fleeting moment. ‘Shifting Baseline’ combines ecological and filmic processes to capture and animate an environment that is rapidly slipping away.

  • Gently Down the Stream

    The text of “Gently Down the Stream” is a succession of fourteen dreams taken from eight years of my journals. The text is scratched onto the film so that you don’t hear any voice but that of a recorded narrator. The images of women, water, animals, and saints were chosen for their indirect but potent correspondence to the text.   • Meltwater

    Meltwater is an icy terrain that dissolves into sweeping waves of shadows. Blurring the horizon between the real and the imagined, the possible and the unthinkable, this vision is a meditation on global warming and its havoc on the rhythms of the natural world. In addition to festival presentation, Meltwater can be played as a seamless, infinite loop in a single or multi-channel installation.

  • Imagine none of this is real

    A strange, melancholy travelogue through the post-human world. A record of the land and the resonance of its history. The images and the medium exist in a tense balance, where each amplifies and distorts the other. This film is not only about the landscapes being captured, but the media being used to capture it.

  • HOW YOU SEE ME

    Drawn from lived experiences and memories, HOW YOU SEE ME tells the story of a Chinese girl navigating her thoughts on white beauty standards. She seeks to understand her relationship to them, and express the damaging effects and harm that fetishizing Asian women causes.

  • K-SARAM I: Tale of the pig head

    Centered around the Koryo-saram community in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, the film displays a shamanistic memorial ancestral ritual „Jesa”, encompassing the collective memory of Korean diaspora, the wish of the Koryo-saram for a unification of South and North Korea, and showing the real appearance of the ghosts of migrants whose transformation to spirits was not succeeded. “Saram” means human in Korean. The title refers to the today very popular K-export- products like K-Drama, K-Pop, K-Beauty, etc. and to the name that the Soviet-Korean diaspora uses instead of the South-Korean term “Koryo-In”.   • Ruthless

    Ruthless (2019) Go back in time and witness a ruthless tale of unrequited love. The black and white film was shot on 16mm Bolex film camera using a KODAK 7222 Double-X Negative film, and processed by Niagara Film Lab in Toronto. Filmed in a few hours and is inspired by the Dogme 95 cinema movement.
