When Pete’s best friend Ben takes a liking to Evelyn, Pete must figure out a way to spend her in this irreverent teenage bromantic comedy. Gorgeously hand-processed in full 16mm glory, this film is a collaboration between Gina Carducci (Stone Welcome Mat) and Mattilda Bernstein Sycamore (author of So Many Ways to Sleep Badly; editor of That’s Revolting! Queer Strategies for Resisting Assimilation). “All That Sheltering Emptiness” explodes the typical narratives of desire, escape and intimacy to evoke something more honest.

Now, as he and his partner plan their wedding, he must figure out how he fits into society, not as female or male but in a space in between.

As he prepares to undergo top surgery, he shares his experience as a trans guy, including his internal struggles as well as his navigation of a society that recognizes only two genders.
